Author Guidelines for Plantica Journal of Plant Science
(We consider only Original Research Article and Short Research Article)
Type of Articles
1. Original Research Article:
Article that include original empirical data that have not been published anywhere earlier (except as an abstract).
2. Short Research Articles:
Short Research Articles (or Research Notes) are single-finding papers (or one year experiment for agricultural papers) that can be reported with one or two illustrations (figures/tables) and lab protocols.
General Information
Plantica Journal of Plant Science (PJPS) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal committed to publishing high-quality, innovative research in all areas of plant science, agriculture, environmental biology, and allied life sciences. Authors are invited to submit manuscripts that are original, significant, and make a substantial contribution to scientific knowledge.
All submissions must adhere to the following guidelines to be considered for publication.
I. ORIGINAL RESEARCH ARTICLE
Word Limit:
4,000–6,000 words (excluding references)
Structure and Format:
- Title Page
- Title of the manuscript (concise and informative)
- Full names of all authors with affiliations
- Corresponding author’s name with email and contact number
- Abstract (200–300 words)
- Brief background, objectives, methodology, key findings, and conclusion
- Keywords (4–6) immediately after the abstract
- Introduction
- Background, literature review, knowledge gap, and objectives
- Materials and Methods
- Clear description of experimental design, materials, study location, statistical tools used, etc.
- Results
- Present data with tables, graphs, and figures (as needed)
- No interpretation in this section
- Discussion
- Interpretation of findings in light of previous studies
- Novelty and implications of the study
- Conclusion
- Summarize key findings and their scientific or practical significance
- References
- APA (American Psychological Association style)
- In-text Citations:
- Use the author’s last name and the year of publication in parentheses, e.g., (Smith, 2023).
- In-Reference List
- Journal Article: Author, A. A., & Author, B. B. (Year). Title of article. Journal Title, Volume(Issue), page range. DOI or URL.
- Book: Author, A. A. (Year). Title of book. Publisher.
- Website: Author, A. A. (Year). Title of page. Site Name. URL.
Figures and Tables:
- All figures and tables should be numbered sequentially (Figure 1, Table 1, etc.) and included in the text at appropriate places or at the end of the manuscript.
- Captions should be descriptive and placed above tables and below figures.
II. SHORT RESEARCH ARTICLE
Word Limit:
1,500–2,500 words (excluding references)
Suitable for:
- Preliminary findings
- Small-scale studies
- Methodology notes
Structure and Format:
- Title Page
- Title of the manuscript (concise and informative)
- Full names of all authors with affiliations
- Corresponding author’s name with email and contact number
- Abstract (150–200 words)
- Brief summary of the objective, methodology, and major findings
- Keywords (3–5)
- Introduction
- Brief background and rationale of the study
- Materials and Methods
- Essential information on experimental setup
- Results and Discussion (Combined)
- Highlight important observations and compare with relevant literature
- Conclusion
- Key takeaways or recommendations
- References (APA style) Same as Original Research Article
Manuscript Submission Guidelines
- Submit manuscripts in MS Word (.doc or .docx) format.
- Use Times New Roman, 12 pt, 1.5 spacing, and normal margins.
- Manuscript Submission through email will be not be considered.
Peer Review Process
- All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer-review process.
- Decision (Accept/Minor Revision/Major Revision/Reject) will be communicated
Ethical Considerations
- Research involving humans, animals, or endangered plants must include proper ethical clearance or permissions.
- Plagiarism beyond 10% is not acceptable.
